About Powerball

Powerball is one of the most popular multi-state lottery games in the United States, operated by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). Players choose 5 numbers from a pool of 1 to 69 for the white balls, plus 1 Powerball number from a separate pool of 1 to 26. To win the jackpot, all 5 white balls and the Powerball must match the numbers drawn.

Draws take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evening at 10:59 PM Eastern Time, with results published shortly after. The minimum jackpot starts at $20 million and rolls over when no one matches all numbers, with no cap on the maximum jackpot. Powerball holds the world record for the largest lottery jackpot ever won — $2.04 billion in November 2022.

Powerball has nine prize tiers. Matching just the Powerball number wins $4. The overall odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292,201,338. The Power Play multiplier (available for an additional $1 per play) can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or even 10x when the jackpot is $150 million or less.

LottoLabs provides comprehensive Powerball data going back to 1997. Our analysis tools let you explore frequency tables, overdue numbers, pair and triplet analysis, distribution heatmaps, and more. All tools are designed for educational and entertainment purposes — every draw is an independent random event, and past results have no bearing on future outcomes.

The current Powerball format (5/69 + 1/26) was introduced in October 2015, replacing the previous 5/59 + 1/35 format. This change increased the white ball pool while reducing the Powerball pool, creating larger jackpots with longer odds. Our analysis tools allow you to filter by format era so you can compare patterns from different periods.

Whether you play every draw or just check results occasionally, LottoLabs makes it easy to stay up to date with the latest Powerball numbers, explore the complete draw archive, and dive deep into the statistical side of the game.
