About the UK Lotto

The UK Lotto is the United Kingdom's flagship National Lottery game, operated by Allwyn Entertainment Ltd. Players choose 6 numbers from a pool of 1 to 59, and a single Bonus Ball is drawn from the remaining numbers. To win the jackpot, all 6 main numbers must match. The Bonus Ball comes into play for the second-tier prize (Match 5 + Bonus).

Draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 8:00 PM GMT, with results published shortly after. The minimum jackpot starts at £2 million and rolls over when no one matches all 6 numbers, with a cap that triggers a “Must Be Won” draw. If no one claims the full jackpot in a Must Be Won draw, the prize rolls down to the next tier with winners.

The UK Lotto has six prize tiers. Matching just 2 numbers wins a free Lucky Dip entry for the next draw. The odds of matching all 6 main numbers are approximately 1 in 45,057,474. While the odds of any single combination are the same, statistical analysis of historical draws can reveal interesting patterns in number frequency, gaps between appearances, and distribution across number groups.

LottoLabs provides comprehensive UK Lotto data dating back to the game's launch in November 1994. Our analysis tools let you explore frequency tables, overdue numbers, pair and triplet analysis, distribution heatmaps, and more. All tools are designed for educational and entertainment purposes — every draw is an independent random event, and past results have no bearing on future outcomes.

The current format (6 from 59) was introduced in October 2015, replacing the previous 6-from-49 format. This change increased the number pool, creating larger jackpots but longer odds. Our analysis tools allow you to filter by format era so you can compare patterns from both periods.

Whether you play every week or just check results occasionally, LottoLabs makes it easy to stay up to date with the latest UK Lotto numbers, explore the complete draw archive, and dive deep into the statistical side of the game.
